Robert K. Gildersleeve, MD
After growing up in Connecticut, Rob studied electrical engineering at the University of Connecticut. He quickly realized his desire to work with people, however, and entered the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, graduating in 1995. He followed his wife-to-be (Kristin Gildersleeve, MD, now a family doctor in Hebron, CT) to Colorado where she was in her residency. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado in 1999. Rob and Kristin left many dear friends (and mountains) in Colorado, returning to be closer to both of their families.
Rob has been with Mansfield Ob/Gyn since graduating in 1999. He has also spent time working as a Gyn specialist at the Neag Cancer center at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He is proud to maintain affiliations with Yale School of Nursing instructing Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners, as well as the University of Connecticut School of Medicine as clinical instructor. He actively seeks additional training in order to offer the most advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques available nationally. In discussions with patients, he finds sharing his experience and training one of the most fulfilling parts of his job. His professional affiliations include the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, American Medical Association, Windham County Medical Association, and the Greater Hartford OB/GYN Society.
Rob loves sports and coaches his kids as much as he can (soccer, lacrosse, baseball). When possible he still gets out and plays lacrosse, hockey, tennis, golf, or anything else. Rob and Kristin’s favorite family activity is skiing, especially if they can get back to their friends in the Rocky Mountains.
